THE JUJU HAT
Magnificent and impactful pieces of art, juju hats have exploded into the world of interior design, adding color, texture, and the hand of the artist to interiors around the world. Also known as a tyn, a juju hat is a type of West African head piece made of feathers tightly sewn onto a cloth-covered raffia base. Worn primarily by prominent members of Cameroonian society, the feathers symbolize prosperity and a wealth of positive qualities associated with birds. Each hat is painstakingly hand-made by a group of up to four artisans, and requires several days to complete. I love these examples below of how fantastic a juju hat can look in a space.
