Holiday House Hamptons is a designer showhouse open to the public through Sunday July 21st in Bridgehampton, New York. Founded to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®, each space in the house is themed around a holiday or special moment in life that inspires the designer and celebrates life. On Tuesday I shared pics from the showhouse’s Opening Night Gala, Wednesday of Donna Livingston’s entry, Thursday of Jennifer Duneier’s kitchen and breakfast area, Friday of Mabley Handler’s great room, and Saturday of Richard Mishaan’s dining room.
Today we take a look at the laundry room by Tamara Magel, inspired by: Beach Chic. While it is one of the smallest rooms in the house, Magel’s laundry room is one of my favorites. With a bold red, black, and white wallpaper reminiscent of t-shirts tie-dyed, nautical hardware, and a natural floor covering, the designer successfully creates a space with haute summer style.
Ms. Magel in the space she decorated on the evening of the opening night gala. She stands next to fresh arrangements of hydrangeas, platters of natural soaps, and powdered detergent in glass jars, on the luxuriously long table for folding, above the two washers and dryers.
Beach chic bags to match the wallpaper hang from nautical hooks.
The bags, like the designer’s wallpaper, dresses, and fabrics, are available through Tamara Magel.com.
Visit us again tomorrow on LTLYDA, where we’ll visit the next room on our Holiday House Hamptons tour.
