Not every New York Fashion Week show takes itself so seriously. Case in point: the second annual Project Subway fashion show, held on Tuesday at the Eyebeam Atelier in Chelsea, was all about fun — and eating your veggies. Based on Project Runway’s popular TV design competition, SUBWAY sandwich chain invited Fashion Institute of Technology students and up-and-coming fashion designers to create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by vegetables found at SUBWAY restaurants.

MY FAVORITE NEW FACE OF YOUNG HOLLYWOOD

Between Christmas and New Year’s, Vikas and I finally got a chance to see 12 Years a Slave. It was a film we’d wanted to see since we’d seen the trailer, and it was excellent. I found Lupita Nyong’s performance as Patsey to be incredible, and the actress herself instantly became my favorite new face of young Hollywood.
