Christy Emens of Blanco America

This is a post in collaboration with generous BlogTour Cologne 2013 sponsor, BLANCO.  BLANCO has passionately elevated the standards for luxury sinks, faucets, and decorative accessories.

One of the great people I had the pleasure of meeting during my January BlogTour visit to Germany and the Netherlands, was Christy Emens of BLANCO. We met on the first night of BlogTour at the lavish event hosted by BLANCO, although my first encounter with Christy was at our flight gate in Newark airport – where her style made her stand out in the crowd of passengers. When I saw her again at the BLANCO event, I knew she would make a great She’s Got Style post, far before I knew she was the Marketing Communications Manager of one of BlogTour‘s generous sponsors!

Let’s take a look at some of Christy’s style staples, and then she’ll tell us a little bit more about her work, the BLANCO brand, and via video, how to select the perfect stainless-steel sink!

Christy Emens of Blanco America

Thanks so much for taking a second to share more with us, Christy. Can you tell us about your role at BLANCO and what you strive to achieve for the brand?

I manage all marketing communications for BLANCO in the United States, specifically working to increase our brand awareness through social media, our website, product photography/videos and printed collateral.

How would you describe the spirit of BLANCO brand? What are BLANCO’s core principles?

BLANCO was founded over 85 years ago and we’re a family owned, German company. That feeling of family is evident in all that we do, as is our commitment to quality, innovation, design, and service. Our theme at the Living Kitchen show this year was “Passion for Perfection” – which speaks to how our passion for each of these brand tenets carries through into our state-of-the-art products.

Can you talk to us about how new media and social media have impacted the BLANCO brand?

Social media has proven to be a powerful force in growing the BLANCO brand within the design community. There’s a magic that happens when relationships forged through social media are cultivated in real life, as we’ve seen through our participation in the BlogTours with Modenus.  Veronika and  Tim continue to bring together such dynamic groups of bloggers and designers on these trips, and I am thrilled to have been involved with two of them through BLANCO (NYC and Cologne) because I’ve made connections with some truly amazing people!

Thanks again for your time, Christy! To conclude, we’d love to hear a bit about the BLANCO Design Council and how they contribute value to the brand.

And stemming from our involvement with the design community, we’ve created the BLANCO Design Council - a select group of designers and kitchen design bloggers that work with us to provide insight on trends and products. More information on the Design Council can be found on our blog, Blanco by Design.

Now, here’s a video of Christy in action, sharing helpful hints for choosing a quality stainless steel sink.
