One of the many things that completing 3 full marathons, over a dozen half-marathons, and countless 90-minute yoga classes has taught me, is: what you eat before a workout makes all the difference in how your workout feels and how much you are able to accomplish.
A 300 CALORIE SNACK
And what I’ve learned from my coaches and instructors is this: a 300 calorie snack that is 75% carbs and 25% protein and fat (rough estimate), consumed 90-minutes prior to the start of a workout provides optimum exercise success. Here I’ve put together 14 pre workout snacks that will increase the energy in “your tank”, ensure you’re burning fat instead of muscle (hello), and boost your mood so that your workout is the most exhilarating and rewarding it can be.
