Cooler weather is headed our way, and with it: a wardrobe change. This week in New York may very well be the last hurrah of shorts and sleeveless tops for the season, so today’s look is all about embracing the last warm days of September, with knowledge of full-on Fall ahead.
In anticipation of crisper days and lower temperatures, this look moves toward the darker hues I tend to wear in cold weather, versus the much brighter and lighter colors I like when it’s warm.
Peplum remains a popular silhouette for Fall, so I chose this sleeveless top in a mix of navy and less saturated blues – again, walking the line between Summer brights and Fall darks.
I paired the peplum with navy shorts, and black leather pointed toe pumps. This way, the outfit hints at Fall, sans the leg and arm coverage required to brave the elements.
While Summer calls for minimal jewelry and open-toes, this Summer to Fall look incorporates layers of silver and gold tones via a bangle-watch-fitbit-cuff combination, and a double ring on my right hand. The orange lip, a late Summer to Fall favorite, and a medium blue manicure complete the look.
