It’s the weekend! 💫 Firstly, I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers everywhere. Secondly, because it’s Fri-yay, I’ve got end-of-week encouragement for decorating and dressing with confidence for you. To start, I have (a:) a quote, followed by some (b:) decorating and style inspo, and then ta-da!!… (c:) weekend sale picks.
Firstly, thank you for the tremendous support you’ve sent me in response to my New Beginning post. I’ve copied and pasted all the texts, emails, and messages into one “note” on my phone that I open up again and again.
Secondly, Mother’s Day is Sunday May 14th! If you follow me on Instagram, here on the blog, and/or anywhere else, you know I officially have a thing with florals, flowers, and all that blooms. Right in the midst of peony month, – I mean, May, – Mother’s Day is an occasion that is often celebrated with a gift of flowers. Which, again, I love. Please give me flowers. This year, however, consider giving Mom a different kind of floral arrangement. I’ve got you covered with 16 blossoming options.
From the very beginning, my personal life has been a constant and consistent spark for the ideas and articles I’ve authored here on this blog. I’ve written about the blind date I met my husband on, our wedding, our relocation from Manhattan to the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and our temporary yet very first(!) home. With a range of emotions, and with the knowledge that every ending is also a beginning, today I write to share that after 9 years together, my husband and I have separated.
Ready for a middle of the week pick me up? Spring weather is here, so it’s officially time to start incorporating spring fashion updates into your wardrobe. Just in time for Shopbop’s Spring Sale event, I’ve put together 10 simply chic Spring fashion favorites for you to shop, all under $100. The best part is that you can take an additional 20% off Shopbop purchases under $500 and 25% off orders over $500. Use code EVENT17.
Today is the last day to save up to 25% at the GOBIG Shopbop Sale!* Earlier in the week I shared 163 Style Ideas from the GOBIG Shopbop Sale,* and this morning I finally got a moment to sit down and shop the sale myself. At the moment my wardrobe feel very well-rounded and ready for Spring and Summer, so my focus for this shopping event was on jewelry, – as in 5 pairs of statement earrings, all under $50 – and 3 gift items* for friends’ upcoming birthdays. I’ve linked to 4 of the 5 earrings below, and find the fifth pair here.*
Rivaled only by the pre-Fall #NSale, the annual pre-Spring GOBIG Shopbop Sale* is the biggest and best shopping opportunity of the year. The GOBIG Shopbop sale is once-a-year chance to purchase the newest and highest-in-demand items for the upcoming Spring and Summer season at up to a 25% savings (with code: GOBIG17). Retailers usually offer items on sale as a season is ending, however, during this much anticipated event, Shopbop offers savings ahead of the season. This welcome reversal makes the GOBIG sale pretty much unparalleled, as the time to invest in your Spring and Summer apparel, think: dresses, tops, jewelry, and shoes.
As we head into Spring, I’m sure you’re looking forward to the graduations, weddings, bridal showers, christenings, communions, etc. on your calendar as much as I am, – and wondering what to wear! Today’s style ideas feature pastel dresses perfect for Spring events, as well as bags, shoes, and jewelry to complete an outfit.
When friends and readers ask me where to incorporate rose gold or copper finishes into their home, I always suggest starting in the kitchen. Copper kitchen accessories mix beautifully with the metallic finishes commonly found in a kitchen, such as stainless steel, silver, brass, nickel, and chrome.
Unrelated to Valentine’s Day, (which is Tuesday February 14th, hint: find all of my V-day gift guides at the bottom of this post) I’ve been thinking about incorporating more/different pink(s) into my bedroom. When it comes to bedroom decorating ideas, refreshing/swapping out bedding is one of the easiest ways to add color, texture, and pattern to one of the coziest rooms in the home.
