I seriously may be posting about the Holidays right through to the end of year.

I love the Holiday season so much and Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorite Holiday albums, one that I could happily mix in throughout the year. Although we have it on CD and have uploaded to our itunes, I love this image of the album’s original record cover. With Vince Guaraldi – piano, arrangement, Colin Bailey  on drums, and Monty Budwig on double bass, this is a true classic.

One of the first of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Shultz , A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) was produced and directed by former Warner Bros. and UPA animator Bill Meléndez, who also supplied the voice for the character of Snoopy. Initially sponsored by Coca-Cola, the special aired on CBS from its debut in 1965 through 2000, and now airs on ABC as of 2001. For many years it aired only annually, but is now telecast at least twice during the Christmas season. The special has been honored with both an Emmy and Peabody award.
