When MT Carney fell in love with the SoHo loft that she envisioned as her future abode, “the place was a total shell—there were no floors or ceilings, just a couple of raw light bulbs and a toilet in the middle of the room.” With the help of interior designer Michael Adams, Carney was able to do whatever she wanted. “It was the first time I’d ever been able to build an apartment without compromise,” the CEO and Founding Partner of PR firm Untitled Worldwide confides.
Together, Carney and Adams’ goal was to create a cool, contemporary apartment, but with traditional elements, reminiscent of Carney’s native Scotland. The overall palette has gradations of grey and blue, from dark to light, with lilac accent pillows in the Living Room, evolving into shades of lavender and lilac in the Master Bedroom, and finally into a saturated blue in daughter Matilda’s room.
