Hi, it’s Christina from Downtown Native! Now that the stifling heat of the summer is most likely behind us, it’s easier to spend a long afternoon outdoors without becoming uncomfortably hot.
Thankfully, the excessive humidity we’ve been dealing with all summer usually backs off once September hits, and we can go back to enjoying those activities that seem unfathomable in the height of the summer season.
Whether I’m getting together with friends and family or just having a cute daytime date with my boyfriend John, I always prefer to be outside in the fresh air, and the mini golf course on Pier 25 has a great view of the water.
I love that Pier 25 is only steps away from great restaurants (a perfect day involves golfing and then grabbing brunch!) and the course itself is very pretty.
Complete with waterfalls, cavernous underpasses, and cute bridges that let you walk over little rivers, this course is everything you’d imagine for the perfect mini golf experience.
John and I recently spent a Sunday afternoon mini golfing. It was a gorgeous day, and we brought Minnie with us.
Since she’s tiny and I kept her in my bag, no one minded that she was with us on the course.
I didn’t realize that she would be overly eager to try and ‘fetch’ the golf balls, though, so she’ll probably stay home next time!
After our game, we headed out to brunch at Sarabeth’s restaurant. Not only is their food delicious, but they also have outdoor seating, which makes it a nice spot to go when we have Minnie with us.
Pier 25 is part of Hudson River Park, one of NYC’s most popular sports and recreation destinations in Manhattan. I love that there are also several dog runs in the nearby area, including the Chelsea Waterside Dog Run and the Tribeca Dog Run. Whether you’re spending the day with friends, family, your pups or kids, Hudson River Park really has something for everyone.
