KICKING OFF THE WEEK WITH WISDOM

My STYLE PROFILE interview series with top interior designers, tastemakers, and creatives is one of my favorite aspects of my blog. I learn something special from each inspiring, motivated, and incredibly talented individual that I feature, and I enjoy publishing them on Monday mornings to kick off my week and yours with their insight and earned wisdom.

MORE PERSONAL

This year I’ve been honored with answers to my (consistent) questions that are far more varied, of greater detail, and more personal in nature than ever before. I find myself inspired again and again by the path these successful entrepreneurs have traversed to pursue their dreams, and by their willingness to share the[ir] stories that aren’t in their ‘official’ bios, but are as equally as true.

AS EQUALLY AS TRUE

These “as equally as true” Style Profile narratives run the gamut. For Laura, launching her interior design firm enabled her to start over and create the life she wanted for herself and her children, – while at the crossroads, – in a new town, newly divorced, and with two small children. For Anne, it was not her second, but her third degree that led her to her own interior design practice, and along the way, the incredible surprises of giving birth to her first set, and then her second set of twins.

MEET MEGAN

Today, we meet Megan. “Dynamic… Chic… Elegant… Joyful… Glamorous… Full of life…,” are some of the words used to describe the interiors of Lake Forest Illinois–based interior designer, Megan Winters. Ms. Winters’ work has been featured in ELLE DÉCOR, Traditional Home, Luxe Magazine, and more, each time acclaimed for the designer’s fearless use of color and playful dashes of gilt. In 2009, she founded Megan Winters Design, and “has been deliriously designing ever since.” Megan’s extraordinary, “as equally as true” story is an uplifting account of how a passion for making the world a more beautiful place helped her triumph over a terminal diagnosis.
