Hello again! It’s Tina of Life in Sketch, sharing another Design Hotel with you. I’m ashamed to say I’ve never visited the continent of Africa. I was planning to go four years ago, for World Cup, but it didn’t quite work out. When I finally do make it over I’m planing on visited Namibia, because I’ve heard it’s one of the most beautiful places, filled with gorgeous deserts and beaches.
I recently came across The Olive Exclusive Boutique Hotel
in Namibia. The boutique hotel is located in the country’s capital, Windhoek. It’s a one-of-a-kind hotel – it’s eco-friendly, modern, focused on personal attention and feels like a sanctuary.
The hotel is decorated in a contemporary style and it feels very warm and inviting, because of the style of decor as well as the natural colors and textures in the spaces. Photographs of Namibian landscapes by well-known South African designer and photographer Micky Hoyle are hung throughout the common areas, which helps the guests realize the natural beauty of the country around them.
The luxury resort is comprised of seven suites, each of which is individually decorated to reflect a different region of Namibia. Each suite has it’s own lounge area with fireplace and private dining room. Each suite also has private decks that open with large glass sliding doors.
There is a famous restaurant on site called The Olive Exclusive which features seasonal tasting menus and is known as one of the best restaurants in Windhoek. Also in the common areas are a relaxing lounge and uniquely designed bar. Of course the exterior views are a highlight as well. What do you think of this month’s Design Hotel?
