I can hardly believe that it’s been a year since our move to Virginia last May. Over the last 12 months we’ve had the opportunity to host my three siblings three times, but each time they’ve come it’s been to two completely empty guest bedrooms – with really comfortable air mattresses, but air mattresses never the less. So when Layla Sleep offered to send me one of their new copper-infused memory foam mattresses, I was thrilled. I decided that the Queen-size mattress would go in the (empty!) guest bedroom that my sister uses, – which I call “Emily’s Room,” – and that I would use it as the first step toward decorating the room, as a sort of “Room Challenge,” if you will.
If you’ve shopped for a mattress, you know that hours of lying on showroom beds is involved, followed by a lot of over-thinking, and usually: indecision. I love that these hassles are eliminated, (including delivery and installation fees), with the Layla mattress. It arrived on my doorstep, rolled up in a compact box, ready to be unpacked. Layla also makes the mattress acquisition proccess easy by offering each mattress with two firmness levels – soft or firm. One side is soft, and the other is firm. Simple. The mattresses have a 10 year warranty and the return policy is great: 120 night free returns. Layla will coordinate your mattress to be picked up by a local charity, and once your mattress is in the hands of someone in need, you are refunded.
This week on snapchat you saw me shopping for these Bedside Tables, assembling the Bed Frame, painting the artwork above the tables, and more. In between styling and arranging, I took breaks on the mattress to catch up on email and reference inspiration images on Pinterest. I love the soft side. It’s very comfortable and my work breaks kept getting longer… and lounge-ier. Towards the end I was fully horizonatal.
I already adore how fresh and feminine “Emily’s Room” is looking, and I’m so happy that the arrival of this high quality Layla mattress inspired me to start the transformation of this space. Next steps: bedding and another wave of accessories. I say this with absolute glee: There’s so much more decorating to be done!
