Holiday House Hamptons Jennifer Duneier Rikki Snyder 06

Holiday House Hamptons is a designer showhouse open to the public through Sunday July 21st in Bridgehampton, New York. Founded to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®, each space in the house is themed around a holiday or special moment in life that inspires the designer and celebrates life. On Tuesday I shared pics from the showhouse’s Opening Night Gala, and yesterday of Donna Livingston’s entry.

Today we salute the kitchen and breakfast area by Jennifer Duneier, inspired by the holiday: Summer Solstice. Derived from the Latin words sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), summer’s solstice occurs on the day that has the longest period of daylight; when the sun seems almost to stand still. To execute her concept around the holiday, Ms. Duneier chose a bright white paint for the walls and a sky blue for the ceiling, both by the showhouse’s official paint sponsor, C2.
