THEN

Last January I made a list of BEAUTY RESOLUTIONS for the new year. Goals included: getting more beauty sleep, double cleansing to remove every drop of make up before bed, exfoliating, and trying more new beauty looks. I am happy to say that I’ve mastered all of the best practices I was shooting for – and more. I’ve learned so much about the self-care that is “beauty” in the last 12 months, and I now enjoy the processes more than I ever thought I could. Whereas relaxing for 20 minutes with a face or hair mask once seemed like an awful lot of time to spend on something I really did not have time for, in the past year I’ve really gotten into enjoying the minutes that rituals of self-care require.

NOW

Now I view the time invested in beauty and products as true luxuries that I love allotting time for. Just a year ago I never would have imagined that experimenting with different makeup looks, trying items recommended on friends’ blogs and in magazines (as well as sent to me as an editor for review) could be so much fun. All of this begs the question: does looking good make one feel good, does feeling good make one look good, or both? Mmmm… both!

JANUARY BEST OF BEAUTY

Here are a few of the beauty products that I am currently enjoying every minute of using, and 100% recommend.

LAURA GELLER Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey

This highlighter is a luminous powder that applies like a weight-less cream. I apply on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, and on my brow bone for a warm healthy, non-glittery, glowy look. If you’re totally over highlighting and contouring, and are looking for a more natural way to accentuate the angles of your face, this illuminator works beautifully.
