DIFFA Dining By Design 2014 will launch its 17th annual design exhibition with 5 days of events running concurrently with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 in New York City, starting today (Thursday, March 20th) through Monday, March 24th. I will be attending today’s preview and wanted to give you a sneak peek of three of the installations: one by Rottet Studio in partnership with 3M Architectural Markets, one by Slade Architecture in partnership with Axor, and one by 2Michaels in partnership with Beacon Hill.
DIFFA is the acronym for “Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS,” and DINING BY DESIGN brings together internationally celebrated designers and New York City talent to create three dimensional dining installations that awe, inspire, and delight. These extraordinary dining environments—from the lavish and romantic to the outrageous and whimsical—set the stage for five days of fun and fundraising. For the sixth consecutive year, the event will be held in conjunction with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94.
As in years past, the event will bring together some of the most talented and celebrated individuals in the worlds of fashion, interior design, art, and architecture to create spectacular, over-the-top dining environments in support of organizations working on prevention, treatment and education in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The multi-city tour, which has raised more than $14 million for DIFFA since it began, features awe-inspiring dining installations from top architects, interior designers, fashion designers, floral and landscape artists, event producers, photographers, retailers, and design schools.
We are thrilled to once again have an amazing collection of designers and partners for DINING BY DESIGN
“We are thrilled to once again have an amazing collection of designers and partners for DINING BY DESIGN,” said Johanna Osburn, Executive Director of DIFFA. “While the event always brings together some of the most talented individuals in the design community, it is important we remember what inspires them to participate: our continued fight against HIV/AIDS and our work to support organizations at the front lines. DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN is a time to celebrate creativity, remember those we have lost and honor those who are continuing the fight.” Media Sponsors include: Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Manhattan Magazine, and The New York Times. Additional sponsors include Patrón and La Crema Wines.
