How often is there an opportunity for an inside glimpse into craft, innovation, and design in action — without visiting a workroom, and over artisanal cocktails, a DJ, and bites by Feast and Fetes with Daniel Boulud?
On Tuesday June 26th, I attended the first ever Baker Salon, hosted by Baker Furniture and Hearst Design Group at the New York Design Center.
For this inaugural celebration, Baker flew four of their top Craftspeople to New York. The evening paid homage to these incredibly talented masters who hand-craft Baker’s most iconic furniture, and the hours of meticulous handiwork that go into the designs.
We had the chance to chat with the master artisans in each of the four craft stations, as they demonstrated the workmanship that goes into Baker’s furniture pieces.
After visiting with each craftsperson, Tina and I were asked a few questions by Marisa Marcantonio of Editor at Large. Press play to hear what we had to say.
It was a lovely evening, filled with editors, interior designers, and bloggers.
The first ever Baker Salon was a great success.
