The FildeFer Outdoor Furniture Collection by Milan-born-and-based furniture designer Alessandra Baldereschi holds my attention. It is charmingly unlike any outdoor furniture I have seen before. The four-piece collection made its debut in April at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, otherwise known as the 2011 Milan Furniture Fair, the largest home design trade exhibition in the world. “Fil de Fer” is French for “string of iron,” the wrought material this collection is made of.
The innovation in the collection by Alessandra Baldereschi, however, is not in the material, but that the pieces resemble wire-frame sculpture or two-dimensional sketches of upholstered indoor furniture, yet are fully functional, weather-resistant pieces for outdoors.
The collection includes a side chair, armchair, side table, and coffee table, all available in white, gray, green, and blue.
The FildeFer Collection is available at to-the-trade pricing through architects and interior designers at Skitsch, represented in the United States through the Design Within Reach headquarters location.
