KEY PIECES TO WEAR TO WORK THIS FALL

Although temperatures in Northern Virginia and D.C. are still in the 80s, mood-wise, it’s time to start or think about starting to transition our outfits from Summer to Early Fall.  This includes wear to work outfits, which are a little less exciting to changeover than weekend wear.  To lend us all a hand, and give our Fall work clothes a jump, I’ve rounded up 8 key pieces to wear to work as the weather shifts from Summer to Indian Summer / Early Fall.  Think ankle boots and pumps instead of sandals, light cotton sweaters* and tissue turtlenecks instead of short sleeve-tops,  and leather skirts and pants instead of linen or cotton options.  Keep reading for more ideas.

CHAD JAMES

For Interior Designer Chad James of Chad James Group (CJG), decorating with confidence is essential to his success. After featuring the Nashville-based designer’s gorgeous interiors several times here on the blog (who can forget this Chicago penthouse or this Southeastern Showhouse library?), I was stoked to see Chad named just a few days ago to the Traditional Home New Trad Class of ’17, and thrilled to virtually sit down with him for this interview. I heart that he describes confidence as a transformative skill that he intentionally learned to embrace: “… learning to trust my instinct; not doubting [was pivotal]. My mentor taught me early on to make a decision. If it’s wrong, then make it right. Know your ability and stick with it. I’m very decisive.”
